Yes it is pretty lame and random how they are attempting to optimise it.
Can stand in HOM with 20 people jumping around me and the CPU usage is at 90-95% whilst the GPU is making a cuppa tea and having a rest with its feet up giving me around 25-35 FPS. Then when I move out to a clearer area with scenery, trees etc. the GPU powers up and wizzes away to 99% and gives me around 80 fps.
As he mentions in the post make sure you pay attention to the Y-axis as it scales depending on how many players are in the queue. So if the charts look similar in the thumbnail picture it does not mean the the number of queued players are the same.
Also interesting to see the drop of FS and Desolation numbers (and quite a few other servers) on the 17th/18th Monday Tuesday and the general gap in the chart at night time during the week while VS remains fairly constant. This probably proves the point for people who are complaining about the night capping and french canadian shifts taking over when the rest of us are sleeping or at work, hehe.

Last night was dumb on the que times. Spent 1.5 hrs queing for borderlands, gave up and just joined a que to EB, grouped and got in within 15 mins wtf is that all about.
Lots of french zergs everywhere but hanging out at jumping puzzle was fun.

Same here - EB qeueue was super short, Riverside Borderlands took 45mins ++.
But tbh, I logged out pretty quickly after getting into both zones. The engine is so absolutely broken when it comes to clipping, no fun at all for me atm. Was running with a smaller Zerg to take the garrison, got into the lord room ... and didn't see a single enemy., Sure enough, we died within 30secs, because in fact there were like 50 defenders in there which we simply couldnt see. Great fun...
