That build relies on a 4 second buff, so the counter would be to either CC the Warrior, or kite them during that 4 seconds.

Most classes have some sort of teleport, the ability to purge CC (because the warrior will open with a knockdown/stun), or to turn completely invulnerable for a short time.

Also, the Necro has some abilities that make your buffs turn into debuffs.

I bet there are actually many more counters to it that I am not even thinking of. And considering that ranged can do damage while kiting, and there is no interrupt code, I hope it stays.

I'll most likely pick Elementalist with the Staff.
Staff gives this class a blast when it comes to long range aoe havoc :) I'll rain fire on my enemies :D

I just noticed that 5 points into beast mastery gives Ranger a 2 second quickness buff when changing pets. The pet swap recharge is about 20 seconds if I remember correctly, so that's actually going to be more quickness per minute than the utility skill.

new build utilizing it for melee ranger.

It's hard to pick right setup but this looks interesting:

I think this is the most overpowered ranged build I have seen so far.

Run with 2 Moa pets. Trait to reduce the pets special ability cooldown. Trait so the Moa will cast AE Fear along side their normal special ability (the F2 command) which changes depending on which color Moa you chose. Trait to reduce time to switch pets (double attack speed buff when switching pets).

So two pets that both AE Fear. Cooldown on the AE fear is relatively short, and every 1.5 minutes (signets) ranger and pet are immune to both damage and CC. 0 skill is a healing pet (traited to move and follow) that apparently heals for a ton.

Just need to find a juvenile Moa to tame now.

ST burst dmg based elementalist build for fun, may play with it http://www.gw2tools.com/skills#el;pfafk ... Ybaa;ZZbeZ

my second char would be Ranger for sniping and roaming (if elementalist wouldn't be good enough)

Longbow and Greatsword for The Swop (Leap)

If you play some ranger, make sure you try out the utility skill "quickening zephyr", the damage is insane.

I wonder if that build for maximum speed would be ok for WvW.
Ele + staff + a lot of speed bonuses

Can't wait to get into BWE2 and play some WvW :D

Any Ele build with a dagger can get a 25% passive movement buff if traited and using the air signet.
Sceptor dagger has some decent burst ST dps. Especially with the arcane utility skills.

There's one I came up with to try to exploit that + dragon tooth, arcane wave, arcane blast, fire touch

truth be told though, it would probably be better to take the earth signet so you can root your own targets to start that combo.

The ordering of traits on that build matched the Dev build we saw last weekend. So if you wanna check out which traits youre likely to have access to in adept and master levels this weekend, this isn't a bad guess.
